RCMP correct licence-suspension claim after Harbour Grace stop

Police say the driver received traffic tickets and his vehicle was impounded, but his licence was not suspended as the original release stated.

An NL News article based on the linked public record. It reflects the source at the review date.

RCMP have corrected their account of a vehicle stop in Harbour Grace. The updated release says police did not suspend the 49-year-old driver’s licence, despite that claim appearing in the original wording.

Police say a Traffic Services East officer stopped the vehicle on Water Street on October 28 and found that it did not have valid insurance or registration. The corrected account retains the traffic tickets and vehicle impoundment.

The original licence-suspension wording still appears further down the official page. This brief follows the correction placed at the top of the release.
